Whether you have experience in overseas development or want to get involved but not sure how to get that crucial foot in the door, get involved with the professional network and start making a difference!

Our main programme areas are described below and committee vacancies below that. Send application queries along with either a CV or brief description of experience and interests to pn.london@ewb-uk.org.

Our Aims

As a chapter of professionals, we aim to promote the work of Engineers Without Borders in the London area through:-

Research: Forming research teams made up of Professional PN members to carry out some of the projects needed by EWB and other NGOs. For a list of projectes currently available click here. If you are interested in joining a professional research team in the London area, or would like to help with research via telephone and inernet, please contact Helen.

Training: Running EWB training events in the London area either for general knowledge or in preparation for an EWB placement. Topics and dates are still to be decided, if you would like to suggest or request a course, please contact Josh.

Outreach: Running and supporting programmes which educate local children and communities about the issues faced by people living in poverty. If you have a programme you would like us to help with, or would like us to come and give a presentation, please contact Helen.

Education: Giving presentations and holding events to increase awareness of the role of Engineering in international development. For more details please contact Josh.

Placements: We realise that it is not possible for the average professional to take a few months off to do a three month or year long placement! However, we are looking for opportunities to team up with other chapters (in the UK and overseas) to assist with ongoing projects and provide placements which are a couple of weeks long. For more details please contact Josh.
