Community
Through its strong community of members and partners, EWB-UK connects engineers and development professionals.
Although we began as a simple network, we have since grown into a more structured development organisation and charity. The major areas are outlined below.
The national executive is formed of student volunteers. Leading the programme areas, these individuals shape the organisation and manage our activities in the UK. Most will come from established branch committees, but we also have four paid employees including our CEO.
The majority of our member base is involved at a branch level - with over 30 affiliated university branches the organisation has a presence at most major universities. The network continues to grow from year to year, demonstrating the passion of our members in spreading the EWB-UK ethos.
The board of trustees is the heart of the EWB-UK organisation as a charity - trustees are elected to guide the organisation and ensure that we fulfil our aims and missions. All trustees have significant experience working in development, and as such can provide informed advice on our communities of practice.
A fast-growing and active network of professionals, working in many engineering and international development organisations. The professional network allows graduates to take part in development work, both in the UK and abroad.
A community meeting point to allow the branches to collaborate and find the latest news and opportunities, as well as inform those who are interested in learning more about the organisation.
Near You - Student branches and the Professional Network are always keen to connect with new members. Find a group near you.
Partners - We partner with many development organisations, and engineering companies to deliver our programmes and aid them in their goals.
