Jacobs
Jacobs partnered with Engineers Without Borders UK to pilot our first professional development programme, the Advocate Programme. The programme aims to equip staff with the skills required to advocate for more sustainable outcomes in their jobs. Thanks to Jacobs support we are also able to run our month-long design challenge, Reshaping Engineering.
Jacobs is challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing. With a talent force of approximately 55,000, Jacobs provides a full spectrum of professional services including consulting, technical, scientific and project delivery for the government and private sector.
Global responsibility in engineering
Jacobs has outlined its commitment to sustainability with PlanBeyond 2.0, Jacobs’ sustainable business approach. Aligned with the company’s purpose to create a more connected, sustainable world, PlanBeyond 2.0 is being fully integrated into Jacobs’ business model and company strategy.
As part of PlanBeyond 2.0, Jacobs has developed six Sustainable Business Objectives to sit at the heart of company strategy and drive sustainability deeper into its culture. These objectives, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, demonstrate Jacobs’ aspirations for how they as an organisation and as individuals can play a part in creating a sustainable future for all.

“As a purpose-led company we know that we have a moral obligation to deliver positive societal and environmental impact through the solutions that we provide globally. The world is facing enormous challenges from increasing threat of climate change, impacts from the pandemic, social inequalities and cost of living crises, and international conflict. Now, more than ever, it is critical to ensure global responsibility is at the heart of our solutions, which is why we have partnered with Engineers Without Borders to deliver the Advocate Programme”.
