Launching the challenge
Share our pre-recorded launch video with your students to ensure they have all the information they need to get started.
Run time: 30 minutes of content plus ~15 minutes recommended for activities and ~15 minutes for group feedback to the room. There are 3 activities within the session, as well as a chance for you to explain the module/class timeline.
Please also allow 3 minutes at the appropriate time for students to complete the baseline survey.

Workshops

Option 1: Share these videos!

Option 2: We'll come to you!

Option 3: Deliver the workshop yourself!

Don’t have enough contact hours with students to deliver the workshops? Here are student-led versions of Workshop One and Two, which teams can run themselves!
Coming to the end of your module/class?
- Please encourage your students to complete this 10-minute feedback form! You can use this QR code to display on the screen during the feedback session.
- You will then need to decide which 5 teams from your university will progress to the competition stage of the design challenge!
- The top 5 teams from your university will need to upload their designs through our submission portal. The portal will open in mid-January and you can find the relevant submission deadline below. The password for the submission portal will be shared in an email.
Key Dates & Deadlines
UK & Ireland universities:
- Submission portal for top 5 teams will open in mid-January (the relevant link and guidance will be emailed to you)
- Top 5 submission deadline – Thursday 24th April
- Grand Finals – Friday 20th June in Sheffield (More details to follow in the new year!)
US universities:
- Submission portal for top 5 teams will open in mid-January (the relevant link and guidance will be emailed to you)
- Top 5 submission deadline – Friday 2nd May
- Grand Finals – Late May/Early June
