Our third session covered the inclusive principle which we define as, ensuring that diverse viewpoints and knowledge are included and respected in the engineering process.
To unpack this principle, we were joined by chair Georgia Thompson, Engineers Without Borders UK Change Maker, Civil Engineer and co-founder of D-VERS-TY a UK based organisation dedicated to transforming company culture and promoting inclusive excellence in engineering and technology fields and three panellists: Sam Islam a Transport Systems Engineer at Energy Systems Catapult; Isabella Mascarenhas Vice President, Grass Roots Education at Electrocomponents plc; Simon Sizwe Mayson an aspiring ‘changemaker’, Simon is working at enabling a Wellbeing Economy in ‘Makers Valley’, Johannesburg inner city.
The insightful discussion covered a huge array of topics including allyship, inclusivity and business needs, and creating safe spaces. Watch the full session below.
Alongside joining our movement, we believe our competencies provide a fantastic basis to begin the global responsible journey. To learn more about our remaining principles, why not sign up to attend our next Constructive Conversation when we will be discussing our regenerative principle on Wednesday 17 November.
