For Karen, her family and the Lama Lama people, the process of returning to Port Stewart is about reconnecting with her homeland and the traditional Country of the Lama Lama people after her ancestors were forcibly removed. Karen used to camp there during her holidays which allowed her to connect to her Country. Fighting for the return and successful handover of the land to the Traditional Owners was one of her proudest moments.
