Govan
This year’s Engineering for People Design Challenge is set in Govan, Glasgow, UK. Delivered in collaboration with the Govan Community Project, which supports the diverse communities in the local area including refugees and people seeking asylum. Explore the content to understand the context and opportunities for improvement as identified by the people who live there, then, get designing!
Geography & Climate
Govan is a heavily urbanised area in the west of Scotland approximately 5km south-west of Glasgow City Centre. It lies on the south side of the River Clyde, opposite the mouth of the River Kelvin.

Jacobs
Jacobs partnered with Engineers Without Borders UK to pilot our first professional development programme, the Advocate Programme. The programme aims to equip staff with the skills required to advocate for more sustainable outcomes in their jobs. Thanks to Jacobs support we are also able to run our month-long design challenge, Reshaping Engineering.
